MTP-Survey by NAMUR, ZVEI and atp magazin

The MTP (Module Type Package) enables the flexible integration of process equipment assemblies (PEA) into modular plants with a higher-level orchestration layer (POL), see VDI Guideline 2658 “Automation Engineering for Modular Plants in the Process Industry.” This survey is conducted by atp magazine (Editor-in-Chief Industry, Dr. Thomas Tauchnitz), NAMUR, and ZVEI. It aims to provide an overview of the current application of the MTP concept. The results will be presented in atp magazine and sent to all survey participants. Our goal is to provide interested parties with a market overview of MTP-based solutions and to demonstrate the current state of market products and project experience.

This survey pertains to your past implementation and experience with the (old) VDI Guideline 2658, not to the new PNO standard. Depending on your company’s offerings, one or more of the following points may apply to you:

1. Are you a manufacturer of process engineering modules (PEAs) using MTP?
2. Are you a manufacturer of automation components (e.g., PLCs) for automating PEAs (“PEA control”)?
3. Are you a manufacturer of a POL (Process Orchestration Layer)?
4. As a service provider, do you have experience with MTP projects?

In the questionnaire, we will ask you these questions one by one, using the numbers listed here. If you answer “yes” to a question, you will be presented with the corresponding follow-up questions.

Organizational Notes

Depending on your company’s offering, the survey contains between 9 and 20 questions. Completing it should take approximately 10 to 20 minutes per offering, provided you have all the necessary information.
